A founding member of the San Antonio law firm McReynolds & Tye, P.C., attorney Michael L. McReynolds practices extensively in the area of oil and gas law in South Texas. Mr. McReynolds attended undergraduate school at John Brown University and earned his Juris Doctorate law degree from University of Texas at Austin, where he belonged to Phi Delta Phi international legal fraternity. Admitted to the Bar in 1972, Mr. McReynolds is licensed to practice in the state courts throughout Texas, as well as the U.S. District Courts in the Southern and Western Districts of Texas and the District of Arizona. In 1972-73, Mr. McReynolds served as a Briefing Attorney to the Texas Fourth Court of Civil Appeals. He served as in-house counsel for several oil companies over many years and has been Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law since 1986 by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS). Mr. McReynolds served on the TBLS Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Exam Commission from 2003-2008, including serving as Chair in 2007 and 2008.

Mr. McReynolds is a member of the San Antonio Bar Association and a Past Chairman of the Association’s Natural Resources Section. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, the College of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation, the American Petroleum Institute, the South Texas Geological Society, the San Antonio Association of Professional Landmen, the San Antonio Geophysical Society, and the Christian Legal Society.
